With UB4U, the University Library offers a comprehensive range of courses and consulting services for researchers at TU Braunschweig. The main focus is on writing (citation, literature management, publication ...) and research (databases, university archives, ...). Individual topics can be requested as well as subject-specific content and the associated resources and online content.
After passing the doctoral examination, doctoral candidates are obliged, according to the doctoral regulations, to make the dissertation available to the scientific public in an appropriate manner by publishing and distributing it. A period of one year from the date of the examination is allowed for this purpose.
The Thesis Office of the University Library provides information on all aspects of the publication of dissertations, accepts the obligatory copies and issues a certificate necessary for the receipt of the doctoral certificate.
Technische Universität Braunschweig is committed to its social responsibility and wants to ensure transparency in research. Constant access to information about research projects and their results serves to ensure transparency. In a joint initiative, the State of Lower Saxony and the universities have developed the "Guidelines for Transparency in Research"(german version only) – they concretize the agreements made in the Higher Education Development Agreement (Hochschulentwicklungsvertrag). Further information can be found on the central page on research and transparency.
Research data is both the basis and the result of scientific work. Responsible handling of them certainly ensures the traceability and verifiability of research.
Technische Universität Braunschweig supports its scientists in implementing quality-conscious data management in the sense of ensuring good scientific practice and promoting greater transparency in its research. To this end, a guideline on the handling of research data at Technische Universität Braunschweig was adopted.
Further information on the handling of research data at TU Braunschweig can be found on the central page.
New research results and findings are being generated worldwide on a daily basis. As part of its Open Access strategy, Technische Universität Braunschweig promotes the free exchange of research results. It recommends its scientists and scholars to publish or make available their publications in the spirit of Open Access. The Senate of TU Braunschweig has adopted a guideline on this. The former President of TU Braunschweig, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Hesselbach, signed the "Berlin Declaration" on Open Access to Scientific Knowledge on 13th May 2015.
The University Library advises and supports scientists and scholars in all questions relating to Open Access.
Further information on the Open Access Strategy can be found on the central website of TU Braunschweig.
