At the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of TU Braunschweig it is possible to obtain a doctorate as "Dr.-Ing". The doctoral phase includes both independent scientific work and the performance of tasks at the institute (research/teaching/administration), as well as the further education of doctoral students to become sought-after managers in industry and science via the workshop programme of the Graduate Academy GradTUBS as part of the structured doctoral programme.
Our bilingual brochure offers both doctoral candidates and interested persons an overview of the doctoral procedure at our faculty. You will get to know the procedure and learn more about the first steps when your doctoral project has become more concrete. In addition, it contains a checklist for the submission of all documents during the different stages of the procedure, as well as the 'General guidelines for the publication and delivery of dissertations'.
Strukturiertes Doktorat offers PhD students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering an optimum teacher-student ratio as well as individual scientific and interdisciplinary opportunities. Strukturiertes Doktorat is unique in Germany and aims at the improvement of the engineering PhD programme. On 24 May 2011, Strukturiertes Doktorat was awarded a prize by the National Academy of Science and Engineering (Acatech).
