Description

Subproject C1

Based on the present aerodynamic characteristics of the full aircraft configuration with circulation control on the wing with propeller and the aerodynamic interference with the empennage, the second phase of the project is intended to investigate the potential of circulation control for yaw and roll control of the aircraft. The studies will explore the potentials and limits of a consequently extended use of the circulation control concept for control surfaces. The objectives include the assessment of the aerodynamic efficiency of this type of circulation control application, the potential to cope with conceptual drawbacks of the aircraft configuration, as well as the supply of aerodynamic input data for flight mechanical assessments.
