What‘s your nicest memory of Braunschweig and do you have a favorite place?

I really liked the Bürgerpark and the Magni neighbourhood. I have many fond memories. But I particularly remember the moment when I met my dear friend Josephine on the first day of our studies.

Reasons why the TU Braunschweig is a great place to study:

Short distances, lots of green, water and the proximity to the HBK - in other words, a mix of many different fields of study and therefore also of people.

Describe the time of your studies in 3 words:

  • diverse
  • inspiring
  • challenging

Which contents of your studies can you still use in your career today?

Media Technology as a focus topic was not my highlight, but it helps me a lot. I have no reservations when it comes to technical topics and can also evaluate them in a social context. This is enormously valuable with regard to digitalisation and artificial intelligence.

Are you still in touch with former fellow students? Do you see each other and if so, how often?

Yes, I've even mentioned her name elsewhere. We see each other from time to time, but unfortunately too rarely.

What advice would you give current students for their personal career planning?

  1. Take yourself time for your training and further education! I could hardly wait to start my career back then, but this intensive period of learning will not come back so quickly. In short: do your Master's too.
  2. Don't be intimidated by new and complex topics. Even if you feel quite lost at first, you might end up being better at something than most of your fellow students.
  3. If you start earlier, you can party longer: I always started preparing for exams and writing homework very early. I hardly ever missed a party because I didn't have to study or finish something at the last minute.

In one sentence - In the future I wish the TU Braunschweig:

A breakthrough in the field of artificial intelligence that will move Germany forward!
