Dear Fresher,
Welcome to the Technische Universität Braunschweig for your study start in the winter semester 2024/2025!
During the introductory week, you will receive initial information about your studies, the university and its facilities. You will also get to know some of your teachers as well as your contact persons in the office. You will also meet your fellow students for the first time.
The varied evening programme is organised by the subject group. Every evening there is an event where you can get to know your fellow students.
Below you will find the weekly schedule of introductory sessions for the Bachelor's and Master's degree programme Environmental Sciences. Our campus map will help you to find your lecture hall.
from 30.09 to 02.10.2024 the Mathematics Pre-course for Environmental Sciences will take place.
The pre-course will take place from 30 September to 02 October 2024, 09:00-16:00 h, in lecture hall SN 20.02 (see campus map).
The preliminary course serves to review the mathematical basics from school, with the aim of refreshing mathematical knowledge.
Since the last semester, there has also been an online pre-course as an ungraded self-test. It is recommended that you ideally complete this test before the preliminary course in order to prepare for the upcoming topics and to be able to ask questions during the preliminary course.
You can find further information and documents for the preliminary course in StudIP at
Preliminary course for the lecture Mathematical Methods in Chemistry
Pre-registration is not required.
The course "Analysis of Environmental Problems" is designed to give you an initial overview of the various areas of teaching and research in the Environmental Sciences degree programme. Instead of a lecture series, this year we are organising a scavenger hunt in and around the campus, where you can listen to lectures by the lecturers of our study programme, meet your mentors, see important locations on campus, but above all get to know each other. During the software-guided scavenger hunt, you will have to answer various questions. In doing so, you have to achieve a score, which we will later use to certify your academic achievement for this compulsory event. Please bring an iOS- or android-enabled tablet or smartphone with you.
Please register for "Analysis of Environmental Problems" in StudIP:
The Fachgruppe Umweltnaturwissenschaften und Geoökologie is the student representative body for students on the Environmental Sciences degree programme.
