Corpus Libri et Liberi (Colibri)

Around 15,000 books are to be digitized from the collections of the project partners, the University Library of the Technische Universität Braunschweig, the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin - Preußischer Kulturbesitz, the Bielefeld University Library and the cooperation partner Stiftung Internationale Jugendbibliothek München. Text recognition will then be used to create a text corpus that will enable researchers to carry out analyses using digital humanities methods.

On the one hand, the project ties in with the DFG's extensively funded digitization strategy for 18th century prints as part of the "Verzeichnis der im deutschen Sprachraum erschienenen Drucke des 18. Jahrhunderts" (VD 18) and at the same time closes a gap to the children's and youth books digitized in the project "Europeana Collections 1914-1918″.
