The ongoing development of sustainable funding models and the steadily growing number of OApublications in scientific institutions increasingly require transparent and sustainable organization and
documentation of publications, as well as the associated financial flows. The expansion of the Open Access culture at these institutions is accompanied by the need to record this information with appropriate tools and
to make it transparent for the further promotion of Open Access (OA). In this project, the concrete needs of these institutions will be surveyed, their current coverage will be compared with existing tools, and these will
be adapted or supplemented where possible. A database-based OA workflow tool (Customizable Open Access Database Application; Short: CODA) developed at UB Braunschweig (UBBS), which is currently in the pilot phase, offers a low-threshold solution for sustainable
proposal processing and reporting of OA publications. With the intended transfer into an open source project, this workflow tool will be made available to interested institutions for subsequent use and collaborative further development.
