New TU Teaching Award

Nominating lecturers for the Teaching Award is a valuable way of expressing appreciation for outstanding teaching. This not only recognizes the individual achievements and commitment of teachers, but also underlines the general importance of excellent teaching at TU Braunschweig.
The Teaching Award serves as an incentive for lecturers to continuously develop their skills and promote innovative teaching methods. Ultimately, both teachers and students benefit from this recognition, as it helps to create an inspiring learning environment and promote the quality of teaching at TU Braunschweig.

All courses taken in winter semester 2023/24 and summer semester 2024 can be nominated. Nominations will be made in the following categories

• Best Lecture
• Best Undergraduate Course
  (Undergraduate courses refer to compulsory courses in the Bachelor's program with over 50 participants)
• Best Seminar
• Best Tutorial (German Übung)/Best Laboratory
  (Internships - excluding professional internships - can also be nominated here).
• Best Student Tutorial (German: Tutorium)
• Best International Teaching
  (The entire course - regardless of course type - is taught in English (written and spoken)).

You can only nominate courses to which you are registered in StudIP. The number of nominations is not limited.

The nomination is open from 13.05.2024 and can easily be made via StudIP.

Students will be able to nominate the courses they attended in the winter semester 2023/24 and this summer semester 2024 in the various categories via the teaching award icon. You must provide your nominations with a clear explanation (at least 100 characters) in order to submit them.

You can withdraw your nominations at any time during the nomination process.

Nominations can be made from May 13, 2024 via StudIP. The nomination phase is open until June 09, 2024.

The courses will be awarded the Teaching Awards at the Studium Generale in October.

The faculty groups of the individual faculties make an initial pre-selection of the nominations. Ten nominations per faculty can be submitted to the jury.

The final decision on the award winners is made by a student jury. This is made up of the six student members of the KSW and six faculty representatives (Faculty Council).
