Today, noise requirements for air transport are strongly affected by local regulations and to a lesser extent ruled by worldwide certification. The noise exposure of residents and the acceptance level of passengers drive this. Therefore, reliable and precise noise assessment methods based on physical wave propagation principles for external and cabin noise are needed within the design process of future aircraft. A powerful integration of high-fidelity simulations of the cabin enabling detailed parameter and sensitivity studies are rarely documented in literature.
With respect to acoustics, a comprehensive noise assessment at both, the immision point “cabin” and the immission point “ground”, respectively is aimed within SE²A. Some of the main objectives of the project are:
