Pupils on high school level (10th -13th grade) who are interested in SE²A’s research topics can join the research club “changING”. The programme is designed to address pupils in the region of Braunschweig and is part of the SE²A Cluster of Excellence. The aim is to give especially female pupils the opportunity to deal with technical questions and motivate them to start university degrees in engineering and sciences. ChangING is organized by Dina Al-Kharabsheh and Dr. Anne Geese, Institut für Fachdidaktik der Naturwissenschaften at TU Braunschweig, who will supervise the project as a part of the SE²A Equal Opportunity Programme.
Participants are invited to find their own scientific questions in the frame of the TU Braunschweig research. For this reason, they get access to resources and the opportunity to write their scientific term papers (“Facharbeiten”) related to the subject of the SE²A research units. The pupils are organized in several groups and will meet regularly during the school year.
On October 24th 2019 more than 30 pupils participated in the opening of the changING research club at Haus der Wissenschaft. Prof. Rolf Radespiel welcomed the attendees and introduced them to TU Braunschweig und the SE²A Cluster of Excellence. Future ChangING activities include visits at the DLR_School_Lab and the Institute for Acoustics, among other institutions.
