With the February seminar, the SE²A Doctoral Researchers had the unique opportunity to visit the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) in Braunschweig and see some of the many labs.
Around 20 participants were warmly welcomed by Dr. Bo Shu, who provided an introduction to the various areas of work at the PTB in Braunschweig and Berlin, as well as its diverse projects. Even though “time is made in Braunschweig” our interest included site visits to the Renewable Energy Carriers and Storage Lab, which specialises in research on batteries, hydrogen technology and gas measurement technology; the Wind Energy Lab; and the Reaction Kinetics Lab, which undertakes projects on reactive chemical processes of the atmosphere, energy conversion and material synthesis.
We would like to express our sincere thanks for the productive dialogue and valuable insights shared from our SE²A cooperation partner PTB: Prof. Ravi Fernandes & Dr. Bo Shu for the welcome and introduction, Dr. Ajoy Ramalingam for taking care of the organisation on site, and SE²A doctoral researcher Guanyu Wang, for guiding the participants through the facilities.
A special thanks to the members of the SE²A Coordination Team Valerio Mosca and Aditya Kale, for the overall organisation and preparation of the visit.
