The research club changING of the Cluster of Excellence SE²A - Sustainable and Energy-Efficient Aviation - will start a new round on November 18, 2021: School students from 10th grade onwards can research, experiment and get exciting insights into research for sustainable aviation. One of changING's goals is to get girls in particular interested in technical topics.
The program includes events and digital workshops in the fields of acoustics, simulation, programming and design. In the process, the young people also get to talk to researchers at TU Braunschweig. Practical and independent work is very important at changING - for example in the digital CAD and 3D printing workshops. In the past two years, a total of 56 students have participated in numerous projects of the research club - in cooperation with more than ten facilities and institutes of the TU Braunschweig.
The groups meet virtually or on site every two weeks during the school year - in accordance with current hygiene regulations and 3G rules. Students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering accompany the groups as mentors.
About "changING"
The research club "changING" of the Cluster of Excellence SE²A - Sustainable and Energy-Efficient Aviation - at the TU Braunschweig started for the first time in October 2019. Students from the 10th grade onwards get the chance to do their own research and experiments. In addition, they learn about technical courses of study and careers in the research focus "Mobility" of the TU Braunschweig in a practical way. The young people will be accompanied until they graduate from high school if they want to stay with the project for the entire four years.
