My name is Tim Wittenborg, I am a Data Science & Digital Libraries PhD student and I study how formalized knowledge can enable engineers to automatically connect and build upon the state of the art.
Every day I learn about a whole new universe of past, ongoing and potential research, and I can contribute a small piece to help others connect to this knowledge.
If lessons learned and knowledge found is properly formalized instead of vanishing in isolated silos, we can learn, expand and build upon the best available knowledge and modularly expand our shared understanding and realize the best solutions currently possible.
The broad range of topics covered, combined with the common denominator of collectively achieving sustainable aviation, presents the chance to evaluate different perspectives and collaborate on solutions. Having hundreds of researchers striving towards a common goal, each from their own branch, is uniquely vivifying knowledge discovery.
