World AMR Awareness Week: United Against Antimicrobial Resistance!

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is one of the greatest global health challenges of our time. When pathogens become resistant to antibiotics, we risk losing one of our most powerful tools in the fight against infectious diseases.

But there’s hope – and here at the Technische Universität Braunschweig, we are making vital contributions to combat this threat!

Our cutting-edge research in the fight against AMR:

Prof. Dr. Dieter Jahn & PD Dr. Rebekka Biedendieck focus on optimizing microorganisms for biotechnological applications, including antibiotic production and enhancement.

Prof. Dr. Karsten Hiller applies state-of-the-art metabolomics to understand bacterial metabolism and identify new vulnerabilities.

Prof. Thekla Cordes and PD Dr. Meina Neumann-Schaal explore innovative approaches to uncover how microbial interactions and environments influence resistance development.

Our mission:
We not only study how resistances emerge but also develop strategies to prevent them and create new therapeutic solutions.

How you can help:
✅ Only use antibiotics when prescribed by a doctor!
✅ Follow the recommended dosage and duration!
✅ Support research through participation in studies or funding initiatives.

Let’s secure our future together – with research, education, and responsible actions!
