Leonie Terfurth is a research associate focusing on the exploration and use of XR
technologies in safety-relevant socio-technological systems.
She studied Human Factors at the Technical University of Berlin focussing on human-robot
interaction and haptic interaction in virtual worlds. Her interest was the investigation of
implicit measures in human-machine interaction.
Next to her studies, she investigated knowledge transfer of researchers with society, politics,
and business as a research assistant at the Center for Responsible Research and
Innovation at the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering (IAO).
Prior to her master studies she worked on the development of human-technology systems in a maritime context
at the Fraunhofer Institute for Communication, Information Processing and Ergonomics
(FKIE).
