Junior Research Group Lead
"Future Urban Coastlines"
Since August 2021, I am leading the Junior Research Group "Future Urban Coastlines". In this interdisciplinary group, we scrutinize the exposure and vulnerability of urban coastal communities to hydraulic seaborne hazards (for example intensified storm waves or rising sea levels) with the aim to develop novel approaches for coastal climate change adaptation and protection. Following the TUBS' research focus within the research cluster "Future Cities" the Junior Research Group brings together early career experts of different disciplines to deal with geoecologic, structural, spatial and socio-political issues in coastal engineering.
