Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics course

We are pleased to announce that Technische Universität Braunschweig (TUBS) will host a course on Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH), organized by the Hydromechanics, Coastal and Ocean Engineering division at the Leichtweiß-Institute for Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources.

Dates: 25-27 March 2025
Registration opens on 17th February.

Organized by Moncho Gomez Gesteira, José Domínguez, Bonaventura Tagliafierro, Iván Martínez Estévez and Salvatore Capasso this course briefly explores the theory and then dives into application of the SPH method. The course provides a concise overview of the SPH numerical method, introducing students to the open-source code DualSPHysics. After this introductory part we move on to various case studies related to coastal protection and floating devices, with a strong emphasis on offshore renewable energy. The course is aimed at MSc and PhD students with an interest in CFD and coastal/offshore applications.

Whether you're new to SPH or want to deepen your knowledge, this course provides both a solid foundation and advanced insights into the field.
