The Department of Waste and Resource Management at the Leichtweiß Institute of Hydraulic Engineering is headed by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Klaus Fricke and deals with modern issues relating to the management of waste and its impact on resource, environmental and climate protection in teaching, capacity building and research.
We offer lectures on environmental protection, recycling management, life cycle assessment, geology, mechanical/thermal/biological waste treatment, international waste management, biomass use, air pollution control, landfill technology and remediation of contaminated sites. Furthermore, we supervise bachelor, student and master theses.
With regard to capacity building, the freely available e-learning website teach4waste should be mentioned, which with its open educational resources (OER) materials represents a significant contribution to making knowledge available.
You can find out about current and past research activities as well as cooperation partners individually on our website.
