1974: Licentiate in electrical Engineering from Aleppo University-Syria
1979: Ph.D. Degree in computer engineering Technical University of Braunschweig-Germany.
1980 -1986: Postdoctoral research on database machines and industrial consultant in VLSI for error correction coding for SIEMENS memory systems. at the institute for computer engineering of th Tech. Univ. Braunschweig
1988: Habilitation degree (Personal Chair) in "computer engineering", Tech. Univ. Braunschweig.
1988-till now: Teaching Cryptography and Systems Security, digital design, Wireless Communication, Digital Networks, Coding Theory, VLSI Design.
1986 - 1996: (10 years industrial leave) at the industrial/governmental "Institute for Applied Microelectronics" IAM as director of the applied research department.
1996-2001: back from industry to the institute for computer and network engineering at Tech. Univ. Braunschweig. Founded a research group working on reliability and security technology. Activities were on mobile security and channel coding with Bosch Telecom, German Telecom and Siemens as well as acting member producing proposals for the 3rd generation mobile system standardization (3GPP).
2002 : Obtained the academic rank "Professor with Personal Chair" in German "Ausserplanmäsige Professor" at the Technical University of Braunschweig.
2002-2005: Visiting professor at Telecom "Etisalat University College"/Khalifa University in Sharjah UAE, till mid 2005
Since July 2005: Professor and education staff member at "Institute for computer and Network engineering", responsible for education and research on Security Technology at EE dept. at the Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany.
