The increasing digitalization is also changing the production technology as a part of Industry 4.0. Today, a large number of different mobile and digital applications is used in the production environment. Therefore, it is increasingly important for students of production technology to be able to use such applications, but also to understand the functional principles and the implementation paths from the problem to the application. In the laboratory "AR Applications in Production", this knowledge is taught in an application-oriented manner in the Lernfabrik at the Institute of Machine Tools and Production Technology. The problem- and research-oriented teaching-learning concept focuses on the analysis of potentials and challenges of hardware-software combinations for different end devices as well as on the acquisition of practical experience.
In a 2-hour introductory seminar and four 4-hour block courses, Augmented Reality applications are created using the current development environment Unity 3D engine, which originates from the games industry. By participating in this lab, students acquire important skills and knowledge in the field of digital production - a key element of Industrie 4.0.
The number of participants is limited. Places will be allocated in the order of registration. The event will be held in English.
