Simulation Coupling

Simulation Coupling

Automotive Research Centre Niedersachsen

Simulation coupling for safe and sustainable transport

A close cooperation and coordination of driving and traffic flow simulations offers the possibility to consider input variables, scenarios or models across disciplines. The project aims at an "online coupling" of driving simulator and traffic flow simulation, in which the ego vehicle of the driving simulator is surrounded by traffic "controlled" by the traffic flow simulation. For a coherent consideration of driver assistance systems, the appropriate framework conditions would have to be created first in both disciplines in cooperation with the external project partner. This includes, for example, the use of common standards to describe the simulated scenarios, the control of the light signal systems and the communication with the vehicle.

Objective

Creation of a uniform simulation environment for the testing of driver assistance and traffic systems
