First semester students

Students at TU Braunschweig automatically receive a y-number, also known as a TUBS ID, when they enrol.
The TUBS ID grants access to the examination administration and to our IT systems.

The TUBS-ID is not your matriculation number, but will be assigned to you additionally.

The IT services provided by the Gauß-IT-Zentrum include among others

• an e-mail account
• a cloud access on a central server
• the use of technical-scientific software
• the use of high-performance printers and plotters*
• teaching and learning material allowance for printing services
• high-performance WLAN in the CAMPUS area of the TU
• external access from home to the TU network via VPN
• access to the course catalog

*The use of the printing services is subject to a fee (cf. notes on printing costs).

After successful enrollment in "TUconnect - the university portal at TU Braunschweig", you will receive an e-mail that the access data for "Activation of IT services at TU Braunschweig" are available.
