Scientific members of TU Darmstadt join hands with the icing and multiphase flows team of TUBS to characterize ice layers generated in TUBS IWT.
Research in multiphase flows and icing combines questions from classical aerodynamics with those from thermodynamics and mass transfer.
The particular multiphase flow of air, water droplets and ice crystals represents the main research topic of our working group. We focus on experimental investigations at our Braunschweig icing wind tunnel and numerical simulations of the icing processes.
