International Strategy

We see ourselves as an open-minded and globally oriented research university that attracts students, researchers and staff members from many nations.

Internationalisation plays a central role at the Technische Universität Braunschweig and is a crucial factor in academic and scientific development.

We experience internationality as an enrichment of our university culture and as a process of mutual learning.

The internationalisation process at TU Braunschweig

The strategic alignment of internationalisation activities at TU Braunschweig began in 2013 with participation in the "Internationalisation of Higher Education Institutions" audit conducted by the HRK and continued with the re-audit from 2015 to 2018. The internationalisation process also played a central role in the Excellence Initiative of 2018-2019, which provided further momentum. In 2020, TU Braunschweig formulated its current international strategy. In light of the societal and geopolitical changes of recent years and as part of the university-wide strategic process "University Development 2030," this strategy is currently being revised and expanded.

During the course of the internationalisation process, the Internationalisation Committee was established in 2015 as a central body where strategic internationalisation topics are developed and discussed across departments, providing advice to university members on internationalisation matters.

Internationalisation Goals and Measures
