In August, the summer courses of the University of Zaragoza are held in the tourist town of Jaca (Huesca). This tourist centre, located in the Pyrenees, has a wide selection of cultural attractions and other offers. Located at 850 meters above sea level, the surroundings, as well as the different facilities of the town, offer the possibility of practising numerous sports activities, such as hiking, horseback riding, paragliding and adventure sports.
Two-week courses with 50 lessons and monthly courses with 100 lessons are offered.
It is not required to have any knowledge of Spanish in order to participate in these courses. In case you already have some knowledge of Spanish, you will take an online placement test (outside class time) to determine the appropriate language level and course.
The number of participants in each course group is reduced. Due to limited places, participants should enquire about availability before registering and paying.
During the summer courses, you can take part in guided visits to the sights of the city.
Furthermore, excursions to Zaragoza, Huesca and Loarre, San Juan de la Pena and various areas in the Pyrenees are organised. Participation in the excursions is optional and not included in the course fee.
It is also possible to participate in various events (concerts, lecture series, etc.) offered by the University of Zaragoza during the course.
