The Summer School in "THE FUTURE OF TEXT" is held in collaboration with the Tokyo College of the University of Tokyo. Students will embark on a journey exploring printed texts from their origins to modern days, with a specific focus on the impact of recent technologies in the future of text.
While offering a comprehensive overview on the historical evolution of textual practices and technologies, from the invention of printing to generative artificial intelligence, the activities will allow students to develop critical awareness on the challenges and opportunities of texts digitisation.
Students will have the opportunity to visit key institutions during their stay in Italy, including the Correr Foundation and State Archives in Venice. In addition, practical workshops will allow students to work with specialized software for text manipulation and analysis.
