The students have a cross-product understanding of the development process of technical systems. They also know generally applicable procedures as aids for planning, carrying out and checking the development work as well as basic methods for clarifying tasks, working out basic solutions and determining the product design for the individual work steps. They know simple evaluation methods for the selection of possible solutions and can apply them.
The students are able to independently plan a development task and use individual methods in a targeted manner. They also can show the effects of proposed solution variants and explain them physically. They can objectively justify decisions for or against selected partial solutions.
More information for the procedure can be found on the StudIP event website.
The lecture takes place in the winter semester.
In the lecture, the students are taught basic procedures, methods and tools for product development. The theoretical content is illustrated using examples form current research projects and experience from industry. The use of exhibits create a link to specific products and thus strengthens the practical relevance.
In the tutorial accompanying the lecture, selected topics are deepened using concrete examples and by working on exercises.
If not discussed differently in the lecture, all documents will be provided for download on StudIP. The video recordings for the lecture (and tutorial) will be provided on StudIP, if available.
