TU-president Jürgen Hesselbach said to the Braunschweiger Zeitung. The Rosetta probe started it's flight to comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko March 2004. Since 08 June 2011 it is in deep space hybernation condition. The end of this phase is scheduled for 20 January 2014 when the "wake up command" will be sent to the probe. If everthing works as planned and Rosetta has survived the hypernation the probe will encounter the comet in spring. More information on the contrbution of the IGEP to the mission can be found here.
