INNOspace Masters is an international competition for technology transfer and innovation in the
space sector, which has been organized by DLR for the past 7 years. This year, the best and most
innovative ideas of the previous years' winners and finalists were honored again. The awards were
celebrated during the Highlights Conference at the Humboldt Carré in Berlin.
In addition to winning the ESA BIC Challenge and the DB Netze Challenge, the IGEP spin-off PhySens
also achieved the overall victory in the 2020/21 round of the competition, which was the basis for
this year's award. On July 12, the team comprised of Philip Heinisch, Katharina Ostaszewski and
Henriette Struckmann received the "Outstanding nominated idea" award for the concept of non-
invasive determination of currents in multicore conductors using spatially resolved magnetic field
measurements. As members of the working group "Space Physics & Sensors" formerly headed by
Prof. Karl-Heinz Glaßmeier, now by Prof. Ferdinand Plaschke, Katharina and Philip worked on the
evaluation of magnetic field data for the ESA Rosetta mission.
