Qualification goals
Graduates learn how to independently solve scientific and technical problems by working theoretically and practically on tasks in vehicle/aircraft production, micro-production or the production of mechatronic systems. They also acquire knowledge in project management, team organisation, literature research and in the presentation of scientific results.
Content
Students work exclusively in groups of at least two people on theoretical and practical assignments in the fields of vehicle/aircraft production, microproduction or the production of mechatronic systems. In the tutorial, the basics of the chosen topic area are taught and applied to a concrete problem. In addition, knowledge in project management, teamwork as well as methods of research, documentation and scientific evaluation are taught. The problem definition and its solution worked out in the tutorial are documented and then presented and discussed in a seminar.
Examination modalities
2 Examination performances:
a) Project work (written paper) (weighting when calculating the total module grade: 2/3)
b) Seminar presentation, 30 minutes (weighting when calculating the total module grade: 1/3)
Further important notes
The project work in production and systems engineering consists of a seminar, a tutorial and theoretical or practical work at the institutes and takes place in the 5th semester of the bachelor's program. During the tutorials, the soft skills mentioned in the module are taught in the areas of project and time management, literature research, scientific writing and presentation techniques. Participation in the tutorials is obligatory. The seminar includes scientific lectures by the students on the topics covered. For the work at the institutes, the announced topic suggestions apply. Furthermore, some of the study and diploma thesis topics can be worked on in an appropriately adapted form (please consult the respective supervisors). In addition, it is possible to approach employees of the institute on your own initiative if there is concrete interest in their subject areas.
Binding registration for project work in production and systems engineering is made at the beginning of each semester via StudIP. The dates of the tutorials are also announced via this platform.
