For the central future topics of the automotive industry, digitalization and electromobility as well as energy and resource efficiency, lightweight construction is one of the main enablers for future vehicle concepts.
The Lightweight Campus is a new type of cooperation model that enables the research and development of better and new lightweight construction concepts for future generations of vehicles, creating a unique infrastructure at the interface between science and industry that turns ideas into innovations that translate into sustainable progress in mobility. In a promising model of public-private partnership, strong participants from science under the leadership of the TU Braunschweig, such as the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, enter into a symbiosis here with the industrial partners involved, who are established as technology leaders in their respective segments.
