ifls developed at the IFL is a simulation environment to analyse problems of fluid-structure-interaction. A partitioned approach using mature commercial and IFL's own solvers guarantees a wide range of applicability. The control of the individual solvers as well as the data transfer between involved coupling surfaces, the equilibrium iteration and the time step control are managed with ifls. The integration of efficient libraries written in C++ and Fortran is efficiently implemented with the scripting language Python.
