Tasks and challenges in the field of operative Air Traffic Management (ATM) regarding trajectories often comprise four-dimensional relations. The Air Traffic Tool is being developed at IFF to provide a basis for intuitive representation, handling and analysis of air traffic trajectories. It will be used in research projects as tool-basis and as general program-framework when required. Therefore the Air Traffic Tool, which is implemented in Java is build up modularly already on source-code level. This enables individual compilation of add-on modules und novel modules can be designed without extensive knowledge of other connected modules.
Besides core modules, which comprise the graphical user interface, the tool-sided trajectory-management and the simulation- and map-framework currently two interfaces connecting to the OpenSky Network and a module for conflict-detection and -analyses exist. In this context algorithms and methods for analysing and processing ADS-B data are subject to research and development, which will serve as enablers for data bases in future research projects in ATM.
