In addition, cross-cutting issues such as aviation safety or human-machine interaction are examined. The institute is dedicated to both basic and applied research questions.
In addition to a large number of unmanned systems and a helicopter towing probe, three research aircraft of type DO 128, CESSNA F406 and CESSNA C172N are available as experimental equipment. The aircraft are equipped with experimental sensor and measurement data acquisition systems and actuators.
Further research infrastructure includes various simulators such as a cockpit and cabin simulator (single aisle, similar to Airbus A320) as well as a DA 42 cockpit simulator.
