The common yarrow (Achillea millefolium) is a plant of the composite family. It has many small white individual flowers that are close together in an overall flat inflorescence. This flower arrangement is called a false umbel because, although it looks like an umbel, it is actually a panicle. Yarrow blooms from June to October in meadows and along roadsides. Its aromatic scent is similar to that of chamomile, and just like chamomile tea, yarrow tea can be made. This is said to alleviate gastrointestinal complaints, among other things.
