Depending on the raw material used, insulation materials for building insulation have different physical properties. While thermal insulation properties are the most important, especially in the context of wooden buildings, properties related to moisture management are also crucial. While sorption isotherms are largely known with practical accuracy, there is a need for further investigation regarding sorption speed and the absorption and release of liquid water. The objective of this study is to examine the behavior of insulation materials concerning moisture storage capacity. The investigations should primarily involve practical laboratory experiments.
