Wood and wood-based materials are sensitive to moisture. Ideal constructions, ones created without flaws or defects, can last for many centuries. However, ideal constructions are not prevalent everywhere. The objective of this work is to assess the damage tolerance of various constructions. Specifically, real damage cases should be researched and evaluated through literature, and these cases should be replicated through experiments. By modifying the constructions, it will be examined whether the same flaw would have resulted in a different kind of damage.
Depending on whether a Bachelor's or Master's thesis is to be conducted, the task complexity will be adjusted accordingly.
