Sören Meier has been working at the Institute of International Relations since September 2024 and has been a researcher fellow since February 2025.

Sören studied the Integrated Social Sciences Bachelor and the Social Sciences Master at the TU Braunschweig. His focus was on International Relations and there on global governance and norm translation/localization in the field of transnational crime, especially human trafficking and human smuggling. During his graduate studies, Sören worked as a student research assistant at the Leibniz Institute for Educational Media (Georg Eckert Institute) in Braunschweig. He combined his research interests and his experience in international textbook research in his master's thesis on explanations of variance in the localization of global crime norms in international comparison using the example of textbook content on human trafficking.

Sören is currently working on his dissertation project on the national effects of international education programs.
