The team's research is based on a broad understanding of gender studies in engineering sciences.
This includes:

• gender dimensions in engineering methods and products,
• gendered mobility patterns, disciplinary cultures in engineering, and the public understanding of engineering and engineers,
• research on the unequal participation of different social groups in academic and professional engineering.

• epistemological and ontological assumptions of engineers,
• human-machine interaction and user requirements,
• artifacts, production processes and methods

from various gender perspectives.

These studies often reveal a problematic gendering. Our aim is to rethink engineering practices and to explore de-gendering options.
