New research project on ultrafine particles (UFP): ULTRAFLEB - Influence of major airports on temporal and spatial distributions of UFP in the Berlin area

Starting in spring 2021, we will deal with the UFP pollution in the vicinity of Berlin Airports in a joint project funded by the Federal Environment Agency. The aim of the project is to investigate the influence of emissions from major Berlin airports on the spatial distribution of UFP and other pollutants (soot, NO2, PM10 and PM2.5) and their contribution to outdoor air concentration by means of stationary and mobile field measurements and model calculations. Further project partners are, among others, the Institute of Flight Guidance at the TU Braunschweig, the Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research, Leipzig, and the Dutch partner TNO, Utrecht.
