The paper presents the results of a process-based modeling of traffic-related particle size distributions emitted by road traffic on main roads and transported along side roads into the urban background. During this transport, the size distribution changes due to physical processes. Such models are of great importance for the analysis and assessment of exposure to ultrafine particles.
