A joint project with the cooperation of the City of Braunschweig (Department of Environmental Protection), the working groups Environmental Systems Analysis & Landscape Ecology, Soil Science & Soil Physics and Climatology & Environmental Meteorology of the Institute of Geoecology (TU Braunschweig) as well as the Institute for Sustainable Urbanism (TU Braunschweig) will analyze climate risks in Braunschweig over the next 3 years and develop measures to increase the adaptive capacity. The aim of the project is to develop a city-wide adaptation strategy and to propose adaptation measures in the fields of action "water quantity management & soil balance", "human & health" and "nature conservation & biodiversity". The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV).
