Ana Edith Merlo Reyes, a Mexican Ph.D. student doing her doctorate at the Université Grenoble Alpes in France, is currently visiting the IGÖ for three weeks as part of an exchange grant. Her doctoral research focuses on the environmental fate of pesticides, which are increasingly used in the cultivation of avocado in Mexico. Ana is hosted by the Soil Science and Soil Physics group and will work in Braunschweig on modern methods for the determination of hydraulic and transport properties of soils and the use of numerical simulations of water and solute transport with the software HYDRUS.
