The German Biodiversity Assessment was presented on 30.09.24. Dr. Michael Strohbach (IGÖ Landscape Ecology Department) is one of the more than 150 scientists who contributed to this report.
The assessment is a status report on biodiversity in Germany. The results are rather sobering, but it also gives cause for optimism, as it contains many examples of successful nature conservation projects. On 1256 pages, the fact check provides weighty arguments for improved protection, more precise recording of biodiversity and more consistent monitoring of the success of conservation measures.
