Our research focuses on the effects of natural and anthropogenic environmental changes on landscapes, their organisms and biotic communities and the associated ecosystem functions and services. To this end, we analyse the reactions of plant and animal species and biotic communities to biotic and abiotic environmental factors. We measure physiological and ethological responses to environmental factors, but also analyse the changes in distribution in space and time (range changes, phenology) initiated by environmental changes. Our aim is to understand processes and spatio-temporal patterns in order to enable sustainable management of habitats and their biodiversity. Modelling is an important tool.
