Department 35 is responsible for planning and implementing small to medium-sized building renovation and remodeling projects.

Furthermore the department centralizes all administrative and engineering activities related to planning, maintenance and value preservation of TU Braunschweig's property.

Responsibilities

Building construction

  • Planning, implementation and construction supervision of small to medium-sized building maintenance, new construction, conversion and renovation projects, partly under our own direction or in cooperation with externally commissioned planning offices
  • Preparation and refurbishment of rooms in the context of appointments of professors
  • Bringing together all the engineering services, qualitative and administrative activities required for project execution
  • Coordination of carpenter’s services

Building maintenance

  • Structural maintenance and value preservation of all university real estate, buildings and structural facilities
  • Activities to maintain, secure and increase functionality with a focus on structural preservation and use-related expansion
  • Supervision of small engineering services service and repair work of all trades related to the building construction, partly with the internal carpentry

Drawing office, central documentation

  • Construction drawings
  • Documentation of building construction projects
  • Documentation of technical equipment

Carpentry

Performing minor service and repair work:

  • Repairs of window elements, doors, lecture hall chairs
  • Manufacture of partition wall systems, drywall, ceiling panels
  • Special designs in the field of surfaces under protection as historical monuments
  • New additional elements for research facilities
  • Burglary protection after damage to a building
