The mentoring programme at the TU Braunschweig is an instrument for the exchange of knowledge and experience to support the career development of early career researchers. The mentoring offer is aimed at tenure track professorships, junior professorships, junior research group leaders and postdocs (R2-R3).
The Equal Opportunities Office (FEMentoring) offers a mentoring programme specifically tailored to women in academic career planning.
Mentoring is offered as one-to-one mentoring that is not tied into a fixed programme. It is possible to join at any time.
Junior staff in the career phases R2-R3 already have a high level of competence, personal responsibility and motivation. At the same time, the career paths and thus the topics in mentoring are as individual as the mentees and mentors. For this reason, there are only recommendations for shaping the mentoring relationship, e.g. for the duration and frequency of the meetings as well as their preparation. These can be found in the section on the mentoring process and application under "conversation guidelines".
In order to enable an independent and free exchange, it is recommended to make sure that there are no direct obligations when selecting a mentor.
... Curiosity!
Mentoring is aimed at researchers in the career phases R2-R3 and thus at tenure-track professors, junior professors, junior research group leaders and postdocs. Especially in questions of career development and planning, mentoring offers the opportunity for an open exchange and can open up new perspectives.
