The compulsory elective area of economics accounts for between 17 and 21% of the entire degree program. In addition to two compulsory specializations, you can also choose an optional orientation (minor specialization). You can choose from the following specializations:

Computer science
As in economics, the scope here comprises between 17 and 21% of the entire curriculum. You choose a main area of specialization and can also choose to study other areas. You can choose from the following specializations:

- Software Technology and Automotive Informatics

Professionalization
The field of professionalization is aimed in particular at the personal development of students. In preparation for the Master's thesis, students should refine their knowledge in the field of scientific work. This involves writing two seminar papers in the field of business information systems/economics.
In addition, there is a voluntary internship (approx. 150 working hours) or a practical project, so that students gain in-depth insights into the world of practice during their studies. The professionalization area is rounded off by interdisciplinary qualifications. Here, students can take non-subject-specific, software or language courses in order to acquire the necessary skills for later entry into the professional world.
Master's Thesis
The 4th semester is all about the Master's thesis. The 6-month Master's thesis concludes your studies. You also have the opportunity to write your thesis within a company. All institutions of business information systems, economics and computer science are available to you.
