From May 20 to 24, 2024, the Institute for Electromagnetic Compatibility was represented at the 2024 IEEE Joint International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, Signal & Power Integrity: EMC Japan/Asia-Pacific International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility in Okinawa, Japan - one of the world's leading conferences on electromagnetic compatibility.
Altan Akar, Björn Neubauer, Lukas Oppermann and Robert Geise took part in the conference on behalf of the Institute and presented a total of six scientific papers. Lukas Oppermann received a special award for his contribution, which was honored with an Excellent Paper Award.
In the winning paper “DUT Response to Radiated Electromagnetic Fields in a Continuously Stirred Reverberation Chamber”, the behavior of electronic devices under continuously changing electromagnetic fields in reverberation chambers is investigated. The work shows how the speed of the field variations can be specifically adapted to the response time of the devices under test (DUT) in order to reliably detect possible interference susceptibilities and increase the accuracy and time efficiency of immunity tests.
