From September 24 to 26, this year's Kleinheubacher Tagung, organized by U.R.S.I. Landesausschuss in Deutschland e.V., took place. We are pleased to announce that Altan Akar was awarded the prestigious Young Scientist Award for his technical contribution titled "On the Necessity of In-Situ Impedance Measurements in the High Frequency Range" in the thematic area of "Electromagnetic Environment and Interference."
In his presentation, Altan Akar addressed the urgent need for new in-situ measurement approaches to determine system parameters for effective, EMC-compliant system design in future power electronics systems. Due to the high switching speeds and steep switching edges of novel wide bandgap (WBG) semiconductors, the spectrum of electromagnetic interference (EMI) is increasingly shifting to higher frequencies. Altan Akar analyzed the EMI potential of such a device in his practical measurement setup and highlighted the challenges in measuring impedance and extracting system properties in the higher frequency range.
This award underscores the excellent research work at the institute of EMC. We warmly congratulate Altan Akar on this success and look forward to more exciting contributions in the future.
